RENOVATION ON RIVERVIEW ROAD

This classic Cooks Beach Bach was nearly perfect for the owners, but they found the open-plan space slightly awkward. A protruding wall created an obstacle that limited both movement and their ability to fully enjoy the stunning ocean views. To resolve this, they opted for a major renovation, opening the entire front of the home facing the ocean. The transformation included removing the existing deck and central part of the upper level of the building, extending the kitchen area to be flush with the lounge, and installing a steel lintel along with extra-large bi-stacking doors opening to each side creating a beautiful open space.

The Riverview Road project also included extending the deck over the grassy area below, providing additional outdoor living space and creating a shaded area underneath for parking or relaxing during the hot summer months. The roofline was extended to add a covered veranda, offering protection from the sun while also providing a cosy spot to enjoy less favourable weather.

The engineering behind this renovation was remarkable, especially in supporting the newly extended 60m² deck. The deck features new stairs, stained Kwila decking, and a sleek glass balustrade. Thousands of steel bolts, nuts, and decking screws were carefully installed to ensure durability and stability in line with the engineers specifications

Additionally, the clients chose to upgrade the joinery, install new carpet, and enhance the kitchen cabinetry to maximise functionality. The transformation is nothing short of amazing, and the clients are delighted with their newly refurbished bach and the breathtaking sea views they can now fully appreciate.
